Hyaluronic acid powder

Hyaluronic acid powder

Hyaluronic acid is a powerful humectant found naturally in the skin, where it helps maintain hydration, softness, and elasticity due to its exceptional ability to hold water. As we age, our natural levels decline, often leading to dryness and visible fine lines. Adding hyaluronic acid to skincare can help restore a smoother, more hydrated and plump appearance.

Our hyaluronic acid powder is 100% active, cosmetic grade, and high molecular weight (1.1–1.6 MDa). This means it forms a luxurious gel texture and sits on the skin’s surface, attracting and retaining moisture while helping to improve the feel and structure of serums and creams. It is suitable for premium hydrating formulas, from lightweight gels to thicker treatment serums.

Source

There are two main sources of hyaluronic acid:
• Animal-derived (commonly rooster combs)
• Biofermented from natural plant sugars

Our material is produced via bacterial fermentation using glucose from corn, making it suitable for vegan and natural cosmetic formulations.

Formulation notes

  • Hyaluronic acid powder should be added to the water phase of formulations.
  • Sprinkle slowly into water with gentle stirring to avoid clumping.
  • Allow sufficient time for full hydration, gel formation can take several hours.
  • Hyaluronic acid can tolerate gentle heating (up to ~60–70°C) during normal emulsification, but prolonged or excessive heat should be avoided.
  • For maximum viscosity and stability, it can be added during the cool-down phase (below ~40°C) if preferred.
  • Typical use rates range from 0.5–1% for fluid gels and up to 3% for thicker gel textures.
  • Best used within a final pH range of 6.0–7.5.
  • See recipes below for video tutorials on how to work with Hyaluronic acid powder.

Skin Penetration Note

High molecular weight hyaluronic acid does not penetrate deeply into the skin. Instead, it delivers surface hydration and moisture-locking benefits, helping create a soft, smooth and rejuvenated appearance.
