Red Mica

Red mica is a vibrant pigment that produces colours ranging from deep pearlescent pink to soft pale rose, depending on usage. Its warm, luminous shimmer makes it perfect for blushes, lip products, eyeshadows, and for adding decorative swirls or highlights in soapmaking.

Mica is a fine mineral powder that reflects light to create a pearlescent effect on the skin. It is made by coating natural mica flakes with metal oxides such as titanium dioxide, iron oxide, or zirconium dioxide. The thickness of these oxide layers determines the final shade and shimmer.

Particle size also affects the finish: fine particles give a smooth satin effect, while larger particles create more sparkle. In clear M&P soap, Red mica shows its strongest and brightest tones, while in opaque soaps the shimmer is subtler but still produces beautiful pearlescent swirls and highlights.
