Rapeseed oil, NZ

High oleic

This rapeseed oil is particularly high in oleic acid.
Our rapeseed oil is high quality, grown and cold pressed in New Zealand, GMO-free, virgin, and is a great price — ideal for both soapmaking and skincare.

Because the oil is naturally bright gold, soaps made with it tend to have a light to deep yellow colour.
We've noticed a difference in our soap experiments since swapping pomace olive oil for rapeseed oil: the finished soap feels much creamier and more moisturising, with a really nice, soft feel on the skin.

Rapeseed oil has the same SAP value as olive oil, making it easy to substitute directly in soap recipes.

For skincare, rapeseed oil absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a heavy or greasy after-feel.

Rapeseed is part of the brassica family, which also includes cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, and turnips. Plant breeding and selection have produced this variety, which is naturally low in erucic acid and glucosinolates.

The oil is extracted by cold pressing the seeds at controlled temperatures (kept below 40°C) to preserve its quality. It is then separated from the meal through sedimentation and fine filtering — no chemicals are used at any stage of the process.
