Oregano essential oil, certified organic

Oregano essential oil is steam-distilled from the leaves of Origanum vulgare. It has a warm, spicy, herbaceous aroma with camphorous notes. This is a very potent oil and is used sparingly, highly diluted, to add a robust herbal accent in diffuser blends, room sprays, and scented cleaning recipes.

Common uses

Aromatherapy: Used to create a warm, invigorating atmosphere. Best as a small accent in blends.

Air freshening: Suits diffusers and room sprays for a crisp, herbaceous scent.

Scented cleaning blends: Adds a strong botanical note to DIY fragrance-only surface sprays.

Crafts and potpourri: Suitable for candles, wax melts, and potpourri at low percentages.

How to use

Diffuser: Start with 1–2 drops per 100 ml water. Increase only if needed and ventilate well.

Topical dilution: Leave-on skincare 0.1–1%. Wash-off products 1–3%. Always dilute in a suitable carrier. Avoid the face, lips, broken or sensitive skin.

Room spray: Combine with a suitable solubiliser before adding water. Shake before use.

Blending ideas

Pairs well with bay, bergamot, camphor, cedarwood, Roman chamomile, citronella, cypress, eucalyptus, lavender, lavender, lemon, litsea cubeba, orange, petitgrain, pine, rosemary, tea tree, and thyme.
